About Us
Watford Recycling Arts Project (WRAP) is a registered charity specialising in the recyling and repurposing of ethically sourced commercial waste for creative enterprise.
The charity was originally founded in 1995 by a local group of forward thinking, voluntary committee members who wanted to combine the use of commercial/industrial bi-products for artistic use while promoting environmental awareness within the community.
The first 'official' WRAP scrapstore came into being with the help of Watford arts development team in 1996 when we moved into Wiggenhall Depot, re-purposing one of the councils derelict buildings as a warehouse for our stock. We subsequently grew as an arts organisation and began offering workshops to schools and community groups alongside the scrapstore as another means of promoting environmental awareness using the arts.
We are members of the national network of scrapstores ('REUSEFUL'), currently reside in Wolsey BusinessPark Watford and are run by a team of inspirational volunteers. Our warehouse is a place where creative minds can browse and plan or furnish their next project.
We offer 3 membership rates, for families/individuals, small non-profit making groups and schools/commercial groups
